The most long-awaited upcoming games of 2018
It seems that the year 2017 was bad in everything except gaming. Players have not seen this amount of good games for a decade. Likewise game developers, hardware manufacturers contributed to 2017’s success, releasing new consoles and VR headsets. And 2018 promises to keep this bar high. This year is packed with long-awaited sequels as well as completely new productions. Here are some epic games that you should not overlook in 2018.
Far Cry 5
Far Cry series took us to all kinds of exotic places. But this time action is back to the USA, more specifically to a fictional region called Hope County in Montana. You are a new deputy sheriff, whose main mission is to liberate local people from armed religious cult named Eden’s Gate. Under the lead of Father Joseph, these fanatics are not an easy target. You need to cooperate with local Resistance to take them down on the ground, and even while driving and piloting. Crisp graphics make fight scenes look like it is a Hollywood action movie. If you enjoyed previous Far Cry games, this one will not disappoint you.
God of War
The 2018s God of War will have a lot to offer to its players. Kratos got a son, who should be taught how to become a God-conquering warrior. The game also steps away from Greek mythology towards Norse. So now you will not be alone on the beast slaying path. After a 5-year-long break, the God of War promises to be much more different. Dive into the heated battles but remember, now you should care not only about yourself.
Red Dead Redemption 2
Giddy Up! Rockstar finally set the release date for Red Dead Redemption 2. In spring of 2018, the sequel of a popular open-world western game should be ready to meet its players. RDR2 narrates a story of Arthur Morgan a cold-blooded member of the Van Der Linde gang, but there is not much info about details yet. The fact is that this time there will be a new multiplayer mod along with a single player campaign. Gameplay trailer shows the vast improvement in graphics of this dusty Wild West world. So let’s wait and hope that intense cowboy duels and peerless train robberies will be available in spring.
The year 2018 will please us with the third installment of critically-acclaimed Metro game series. This game called Metro Exodus, where you as young Artyom should run for your life not only from radioactive mutants but from post-apocalyptic Moscow itself. The environment of this survival-horror will be changed by dynamic weather feature and also by 4 distinct seasons. Developers from 4A Games are especially proud of refined weapon models in the game which will be fully customizable.
This year EA announced to deliver a solid answer to Activision’s Destiny. The action takes place in shape-shifting sci-fi world, inhabited by ferocious alien life forms. To handle all these threats and get some loot you need to co-op with a team of Freelancers. You and your team are wearing customizable power armor called Javelins that can fly and even go underwater. You can choose between different Javelin classes to follow your gaming style. Anthem has all chances to become a hit, and players hope that EA will not make it into another “pay to win” game.
We Happy Few
Do drugs and 1960s sound great together? Not really if you are in the utopian world of We Happy Few. Life is not easy for dwellers of fictional Wellington Wells in England. So, they found a salvation from war horrors into hallucinogenic pills called “Joy”. After deciding to quit taking pills your character needs to save himself from former friendly neighbors of Wellington Well. It will be hard to find the way out but crafting and fast thinking could help you to get away.
