Great news! You can still get free Hearthstone card packs playing daily quests!
Another expansion for Hearthstone will come soon, and Blizzard announced a pretty big move to lay the foundation for this. Starting from last week, every daily quest that you complete will not only give you a usual gold reward, but also a card package.
According to the official blog, free Hearthstone card packs are still available through daily quests, and you will receive a randomized reward package from one of four extensions: “Journey to Un’Goro”, “Knights of the Frozen Throne”, “Kobolds & Catacombs” or the forthcoming “Witch”. The first three of this season, so they will not rotate out of the Standard for several weeks, like some old sets. Witchwood packages will be placed in your collection and cannot be opened before the extension begins.
Keep in mind that the action began on March 26 and lasts until April 9 at 23:59 PT. It means 14 free packs in all; maybe 16 if you first put a couple of daily quests in your quest log. This is higher than the launch bonus, which will give players three more packs and one random legendary class. Meanwhile, you will still receive your usual gold awards, which can be cashed for packs or Arena games.
Blizzard has gradually become more generous with its free applications, as feedback increasingly highlights the high entry cost for new players. Pre-order for Witchwood will provide you with 70 packs instead of the usual 50. Mind that the last year the studio introduced a change that makes players discover duplicate legendary cards. Currently, it is giving away three packages of Kobolds & Catacombs as part of the StarCraft promotion.
The incentive dates may hint at the release date of Witchwood on April 10 or so, since Blizzard has already stated that the set is being launched in mid-April. The Hearthstone stream is also scheduled on Monday at 11:00 a.m. Pacific Time, which will show more maps from the new set.
