Despite the recent decline of movie based games we still have many new titles. Great action movies can help game developers because they already have an interest from film fans. But it becomes more common to release mobile games based on movies instead PC or console.
Overkill’s The Walking Dead
With millions of TV series fans, The Walking Dead games have a winning ticket for the audience. The plot of the game is based on comics. Thus, this year we are going to enjoy a new chapter in this harsh world. Be ready to fight dead and survive in the post-apocalyptic Washington D.C. The trailer of a game looks so realistic, that you lose the feeling of reality. Lee Everett and other characters will have a variety of skills abilities and play styles but none of that will obstruct the survival teamwork.
New Spider-Man game will please players with sharp graphics and precision to details. Developers in Insomniac Games decided not to tie a new game to films or comics so we will have a completely new story. Early gameplay trailers show that Spidy will rely heavily on quick time event so be ready to press those buttons fast. A game should be available in April exclusively for PlayStation 4.

In 2017 Sega released a VR version or its 2014 game Alien: Isolation. And if you like to be thrilled and love Alien franchise it’s definitely a must try. This stealth horror game is made in the spirit of first Alien movies so don’t expect to shot your guns too often. You will have to outmaneuver Xenomorphs while using bombs and motion tracker. There are rumors that Sega is working on new VR game is an Alien universe that won’t be a port.

The fans of Planet of the Apes franchise got a new game in November 2017. The story takes place one year after Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and has a bunch of Easter Eggs from both movies. You can choose for which team to play and decide who will win in this Human-Apes war. Or you can bring two parties to peace.
Star Wars Battlefront 2
The last title in our top 5 movie games list is Battlefront 2. Whish was much anticipated by Star Wars fans in 2017. The great idea of taking part in battles of all 3 movie eras in one game was terrific. But EA’s realization suffered from critics about microtransaction. The game was developed by a collaboration of DICE, Criterion Games, and Movie Studios. You can give it a try on PlayStation4, Xbox One, and PC.
